About Our Team
Pedraza Surveying, LLC is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) established in 2021. In 2022, the firm expanded through the acquisition of Tejas Surveying, Inc., one of Houston’s longest-standing surveying companies with a project history dating back to 1982.
Under the leadership of Jose A. Pedraza, RPLS, the company continues to serve public & private clients across Texas and has recently expanded its operations into Louisiana. With a legacy now spanning over 40 years, our team continues to deliver high-quality surveying products and dependable service on infrastructure and development projects.
We support a wide range of engineering firms, contractors, and public agencies as a certified small business teaming partner. Our leadership combines civil engineering backgrounds with modern technical capabilities, including aerial LiDAR and advanced CAD platforms, to deliver design-ready products specified to meet each project’s needs.
Our team currently includes three 2-man survey crews, each outfitted with GPS and robotic survey equipment and ready to meet your project’s needs.

About Our Founder
Jose A. Pedraza is a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Texas and Louisiana, a Project Management Professional, and an Engineer-In-Training in Texas. His 16-plus-year journey spans from international military missions to leading Pedraza Surveying, a growing firm serving clients across Texas and Louisiana.
He began his surveying journey as a technical engineer with the Guard, later leading survey teams on missions in Chile, Iraq, and Syria—where he learned to manage logistics, precision, and leadership under pressure. Those experiences shaped his approach to surveying: clear-headed, quality-driven, and grounded in respect for people and process.
Jose founded Pedraza Surveying in 2021 and expanded it with the acquisition of Tejas Surveying in 2022. Today, he leads a 14-person team supporting boundary, route, infrastructure, drainage, and commercial development projects. With a civil engineering degree from the University of Texas at Tyler, he connects design intent with practical field execution.
He actively gives back to the profession, volunteering with SIT and RPLS study groups, serving as a past Chapter President and State Director for the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors, a past Director for the Society of American Military Engineers Houston/Galveston Post, and supporting DEI initiatives through NSPS. He currently serves on the boards of the Future Surveyors Foundation & Houston Hispanic Architects and Engineers.
As the leader of a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned and Minority-Owned firm, Jose’s goal is to foster an environment of professionalism, responsiveness, and trust. Jose is also pursuing his LSLS license to expand the company’s expertise in boundary retracement and coastal lands. His long-term goal: build a firm that delivers excellent work, creates opportunity for others, and maybe one day, welcomes his two young sons into the profession.
